Design Question:

How might we support the diagnosis of rare, under-resourced conditions by allowing both patients and physicians to interactively gather information

Background:

Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) is a complex and underrecognized health condition that presents as a problem of particular interest in part due to existing gaps in knowledge among healthcare providers and the general patient population, compounded by the specific criteria that must be met for diagnosis. We intentionally design RUBIE with a wide scope, despite our goal to support patients with MCAS specifically, because the co-occurence of other conditions often means that effective MCAS care requires multiple diagnoses and teasing apart different conditions.
